Mobile Pet Diagnostics & In-House Laboratory
Collecting diagnostic samples from your pet has never been easier
Accurate Results Available for Your Pet
Mobile Vet Care Indiana has an in-house laboratory that allows our veterinarian to run diagnostic tests quickly and efficiently in order to diagnose health conditions and determine the best course of treatment for your pet. From routine screenings to more complex tests, our mobile vet clinic in Westfield is able to provide the answers you need for your cat or dog, often without the need for a follow-up in-clinic visit.
In-House Diagnostic Testing
Diagnostic tests give veterinarians a more thorough understanding of your pet’s health. Running annual lab work as well as sick pet diagnostics means that we can help you make informed decisions about your pet’s care.
Blood Work
We conduct a variety of pet blood tests, including Complete Blood Count (CBC), chemistry panels, blood glucose levels, and more. These tests assess your pet’s internal health, including organ function.
Urinalysis
This test evaluates your pet’s urinary tract health, detects infections, and assesses kidney function.
Fecal Examination
By analyzing a sample of your pet’s feces, we can detect parasites such as worms.
Heartworm Test
Detects the presence of heartworm disease in pets.
Parvo Test
A quick and accurate test to check for the presence of the parvovirus, a potentially deadly disease in dogs, especially puppies.
Feline Combo Test
This test screens for Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV).
Ear Cytology
A simple test to examine your pet’s ear canal for infections, yeast, or bacteria.
Skin Scraping
Used to check for mites, fungal infections, or other skin issues that your companion may be experiencing.
Schirmer’s Tear Test
Measures tear production to diagnose conditions such as dry eye in dogs and cats.
Fluorescein Stain
A dye test used to detect corneal ulcers or abrasions in your pet’s eyes.
Intra-Ocular Pressure Check (Tonometry)
Measures the pressure inside your pet’s eyes to detect conditions such as glaucoma.
We can perform many in-home diagnostics for cats and dogs.
This above is not an exhaustive list of the mobile pet diagnostics we offer. If your pet requires a specific test or diagnostic procedure, such as specialized blood work or full-body digital X-rays, we encourage you to contact us. We are happy to discuss your pet’s needs and determine whether Mobile Vet Care Indiana can assist.
When To Expect Your Pet’s Test Results
An advantage of our in-house lab is the ability to deliver results quickly. Some of the tests we perform provide immediate results so that treatment can begin during the same visit. Other tests take a few hours, and you will receive a call later that day. Certain tests, such as fecal exams or specific blood tests, need to be sent to a reference laboratory. For these tests, results are typically available within 2-3 business days. We will contact you promptly once the results are available and discuss the next steps in your pet’s care. Our goal is to keep you informed throughout the process so that your pet is not waiting unnecessarily when treatments are needed.
